Tribal Administrator

Reports to: Redwood Valley Rancheria Tribal Council and it’s representative, the Tribal Chairperson
Status: Full Time, Salaried
Salary range: $75,000/year Depending On Experience

Summary: Under the general supervision of the Redwood Valley Rancheria Tribal Council, the Tribal Administrator is responsible for the overall management and supervision of all administrative offices and staff including administration of all tribal programs and services, financial management, and program/project over site. The Tribal Administrator works at the direction of the Tribal Council and it’s representative, the Tribal Chairperson, performing the duties necessary to ensure accountability, compliance and administration of all local, state, federal and other contracted grant programs and services. All work shall be in compliance with Tribal and applicable federal laws and regulation.

Environmental Exchange Grant/GIS Analyst/ Climate Resilience Project Manager

Reports to: Redwood Valley Rancheria Tribal Administrator/ Environmental Department Director
Status: Full Time, 40 hours per week split between two projects
Salary range: Depending On Experience

Position Summary
Under the Supervision of the Tabal Administrator and Tribal EPA Director this position will design manage grants that edit/develop GIS resources and write a Oimatc Adaptation plan according to the grant proposals that have been accepted by USEPA and BIA


Duties and Responsibilities
1. Develop GIS layers, maps, and GIS tools using ArcGIS Pro, ArcMap, and ArcGIS Online using tribal documents, and publicly and privately available data.
2. Maintain GIS data layers, and environmental sampling datasets.
3. Update the Tribes Environment Data Plan.
4. Research and develop the Redwood Valley Climate Adaptation Plan.
5. Work together with Environmental Assistant to arrange outreach projects related to climate change and Tribal Ecological knowledge

 

Preferred Knowledge and Skills
1. Ability to work cooperatively with Tribe and tribal community.
2. Knowledge and/ or experience working with tribal governments desired.
3. Ability to work independently and produce project outcomes.
4. Ability to work cooperatively witl1 other tribal departments and outside agencies to produce and meet project goals and objectives.
5. Working knowledge of ArcGIS Map, ArcGIS Pro and/or ArcGIS Online. Experience with or a strong ability and desire to learn how to use the ArcG IS Online platform (i.e. Survey123, FieldMaps, Dashboard)
6. Working knowledge of Microsoft Office products like Word, Excel, Outlook, Powerpoint, and Access. Experience with Adobe Acrobat, Illustrator and Photoshop a plus.
7. Skilled at writing reports and grants.
8. Skilled at translating maps and engineering plans.
9. Skilled at on-the-fly problem solving.

Qualifications
• Tenacity and a strong desire to learn!
• GED, AA, or BA degree and/ or equivalent experience in related field.
• 3 to 5 years' experience in environmental activities, education and/or community strategies.
• Minimum of 1 year working with ESRI mapping software.
• Valid driver's license, acceptable DMV record and proof of auto insurance required.
• Background check required.
